Educate the next generation on the Earth and all the interrelated systems that make life possible.

While most teacher-candidates will complete their student-teaching experience at a Rochester-area school, some students may complete their training in New York City, Alaska, or Ghana.

Why Teach Earth Science?

In this program, you will build your knowledge of the planet we call home, and gain the skills necessary to pass that knowledge on to middle and high school students.

As an earth science teacher, you have the opportunity to foster curiosity about the earth in young minds while fostering a supportive classroom environment for students from all backgrounds.

Inclusive Teaching Certification

Expand your skill set to work with students with unique learning needs by completing a dual certification in Students with Disabilities.

Inspire Future Scientists

Our Earth Science Adolescence Education program leads to initial single certification in Adolescence Earth Science Grades 5-12. Gain the skills to become an excellent educator and connect young minds to the world around them.

You will simultaneously learn to lead and manage an inclusive classroom for a variety of ages, as well as build a foundation of knowledge across geology, meteorology, and hydrology.
