Why Long Term Care?

Do you want to make a positive impact on the lives of our elderly population? With the aging baby boomer generation, there’s an unprecedented demand for professionals in long-term care. Develop meaningful connections with the elderly community as you provide essential care and support in settings like nursing homes, hospitals, and hospice facilities.

Nursing Home Administrator Licensure

The Long Term Care minor will satisfy the education requirements for the New York State Nursing Home Administrator Licensure.

The license also requires:

  • a 12-month administrator-in-training program (internship)

OR

  • two years of full-time service on the staff of a qualifying nursing home in an administrative position

This component will need to be completed independent of the students’ minor curriculum, but faculty will offer guidance and support for students interested in pursuing this credential.

Make a difference.
