How to Enroll in the Advance Course
To enroll in the Advance Course Cadets must have completed one of the following:
- Basic Course
- Completion of Basic Camp
- Prior service and have completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training, either while on Active Duty or as a member of the Reserve or National Guard.
- Academically considered a Junior and able to graduate in four semesters.

Junior and Senior year - Does incur a military obligation.
- Depends on the Cadre’s status which is either scholarship or non-scholarship
- Textbooks provided at no cost to student

Leadership Skills
- Plan labs with training and developing Junior Cadets (Cadre Supervision)
- Plan Field Training Exercises with developing Junior Cadets (Cadre Supervision)
- Conduct training meeting; planning for future events
- Plan Military Dining In and Dining outs (family and friends can be invited for Dining out) for the ROTC program
Obligations
- Cadets who have been awarded an Army ROTC scholarship have a military obligation of four years on Active Duty and four years in the Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR).
- Cadets who have not been awarded an Army ROTC scholarship incur a three year Active Duty obligation and five years in the Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR).
- If a Cadet chooses to enter the Reserve Component or National Guard upon commissioning his or her obligation is eight years in that particular component.
