Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to report that we exceeded our fall 2025 enrollment target by almost 180 additional students. Overall preliminary fall enrollment is 7,930 compared to 7,509 in 2024, 6,934 in fall 2023 and 6,426 in fall 2022. This is an increase of 23% since 2022.
-
Total undergraduate headcount: 6,154 (+5.4% compared to 2024)
-
Total graduate headcount: 1,776 (+6.3% compared to 2024)
We welcomed over 2,500 new students this fall:
-
1,277 first year students
-
768 transfer students
- 465 graduate students
The first-year retention rate is 75.9% for the fall 2024 cohort, which is our highest since 2016. Transfer student persistence of the fall 2024 cohort is 82.5%, which is similar to previous years. Aligned with SUNY system-wide goals related to retention and persistence, we are launching two new initiatives that will fall under the Strategic Enrollment Management Retention & Persistence Council’s Graduation and Momentum Task Force for 2025-2026:
-
National Institute of Student Success Diagnostic & Playbook. The results of this 8-month project were received in late August.
-
SUNY Academic Momentum Initiative. An overview can be found on page 4 of the 2025 State of the University.
Co-Chairs Rey Sia and Erin Rickman will host a presentation on these new initiatives on September 30th at 2:30pm in Union 119. Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend.
Save the date: Fall Open Houses will be on October 18th and November 15th.
The enrollment numbers only tell a small part of SUNY Brockport’s success. Check out the latest marketing video, Where Will Brockport Take You?, to learn about some of our incredible student success stories.
Thanks to the dedication and teamwork of our faculty and staff, SUNY Brockport continues to thrive as the institution of choice and academic home for our students.
