Description
Learn about the day-to-day management of financial reports and utilize learned accounting principles and procedures to pursue a career in public, corporate, non-profit, or government accounting. Our students complete specialized coursework in accounting software and learn about the current regulatory environment. Qualified undergraduates can also take advantage of our one-year MS in Accounting program, granting them the necessary 150 credit hours to become eligible for the CPA license. Our accounting program is accredited and registered with the New York State Board of Education.
Program Requirements
Students pursue the Accounting Major as part of a Bachelor of Science degree, and must satisfy its requirements. In addition to the course requirements below, students must meet the following requirements:
- Accounting majors must earn a grade of at least “C” in all courses used to satisfy requirements within the accounting major.
- Students must earn an overall cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 in the Brockport courses used to satisfy business core, upper-level accounting, business electives and/or business internship.
- No courses graded “Pass/Fail” or “Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory” may be counted toward the major requirements.
