Art History Minor

Description

The art history minor provides students with a comprehensive exploration of art through the ages.

Admission to the Program

Any undergraduate student can declare this minor.

Program Requirements

Art history minors must complete a total of 18 credits in the courses listed below. A minimum grade of “C” must be earned in all courses taken for the minor.

Required ARH Courses (6 credits):

  • ARH201 Survey of World Art I
  • ARH202 Survey of World Art II

ARH Elective Courses (9-12 credits).

A minimum of 9 elective credits must be from ARH courses.

Non-ARH Electives (0-3 credits).

A maximum of one elective course may be from the following list of approved non-ARH elective courses:

  • ANT 304 Native American Images in Film and Media
  • ANT 336 Environment, Traditional Arts and Women’s Lives
  • ANT 463 Museology
  • FLM 200 Art of the Film
  • FLM 250 Film History Part !–Origins to 1945
  • FLM 251 Film History Part 2–1945 to Present
