Art-Studio Minor

Description

The studio art minor is designed to provide students with a basic level of experience in art making and art appreciation, encompassing two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional media and art history courses. Electives may be fulfilled by taking courses from a broad range of studio areas, or by completing a more focused sequence of courses in one or two areas.

Admission to the Program

Any undergraduate student can declare this minor.

Program Requirements

Studio art minors must complete a total of 18 credits in the courses listed below. A minimum grade of “C” must be earned in all courses taken for the minor.

Required ART/ARH Courses (6 credits):

Select one of the following ARH courses (3 credits):

  • ARH 201 Survey of World Art I
  • ARH 202 Survey of World Art II

Select one of the following studio foundation courses * (3 credits):

  • ART 221 Drawing 1
  • ART 210-2-D Design
  • ART 212-3-D Design

*Consideration for future upper-level studio courses should be given when selecting the foundation course, as upper-level studio courses have pre-requisites.

Elective ART courses (12 credits).
