What is Banner?

Banner is Brockport’s Student Information System. Banner provides the University with an integrated system for recording and maintaining information about all students, including admission and financial aid information, registration, billing, academic records, and alumni and donor information. Banner also contains data for faculty and staff. The data in Banner is the primary source of information that feeds many other systems across the campus, including the online directory, Brightspace, EagleSUCCESS, Medicat, and many others.

Banner consists of two user application interfaces:

• Admin Banner: The application used by administrative staff
• Brockportal: The application used by faculty and students

• Data administration along with procedure/function documentation
• Banner product support/maintenance
• Web Campus Information System interface development
• Develop applications for and maintain Banner Documentation Management - imaging system
• Application analysis, support, and development
• Application integration support of 3rd party products
• Report development in Argos
