What a fantastic start to the 2024-25 academic year thus far. Thank you to everyone who assisted with “Move-In” last week and joined our “Welcome Party” at the beginning of this week. Seeing the smiling faces of the students, and the many emotions of the parents – and some students, too – is always exciting.
In the News!
- It has been very nice to welcome Amanda Hayes, our new Coordinator of Alumni Engagement, to the team. Amanda has hit the ground running as Homecoming is just three short weeks away.
- We have a few on-going searches and at least one (for a Leadership Giving Officer) about to get started, so we will have some new team members coming on board during the fall semester.
- Don’t forget about the Title IX and Title VI training modules that you need to complete in the coming days. Emails from HR directing you to BizLibrary have been sent to everyone.
- In addition to the usual activities during Homecoming Weekend, we will have four ceremonies thanking individual and corporate donors for recent naming gifts: Enclave, the Fenton Family, Pat Roberts, and ComTec. Check the Homecoming schedule for dates and times.
- Kudos to the Comms team for the great “Trivia” video of President Macpherson with students during Move-In. if you haven’t seen it, here it is. I think it’s an award winner! Trivia Video
- Thanks to our University Events team for the excellent work on numerous events leading into the start of the academic year, including both the faculty/staff and student convocations, the distribution of the polos, the Fannie Barrier Williams bust unveiling, and more. And special thanks to Kaci who did an exceptional job managing multiple events throughout the summer, including the Sunset Social at the President’s house.
