Veronika Palmova is an international graduate student from the Czech Republic, pursuing a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. She came to the United States while attending high school and decided to continue studying abroad in college. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Polytechnic before coming to SUNY Brockport for her advanced degree. One of the reasons she chose Brockport was its small size, finding it easier to connect with others and get to know the campus.

Her advice to students coming to Brockport for their graduate degree is to ask for help when needed.

“The transition from undergrad to graduate school can be challenging (it definitely was for me), and taking advantage of the resources available to you can make it a lot more manageable,” she said.

Veronika enjoys reading and spending time outside — whether walking, running, or simply being in the fresh air! One of her passions is playing the piano, which she has done since she was six years old. She is an avid listener of true crime podcasts as well. When she travels home, she spends time with her dog, aptly named Brahms.
