Dr. Ramsay presented a paper titled, “Cultural Exchange in Ancient Trade Networks: Zoroastrian Elements in Petra’s Burial Practices” and co-authored another paper titled, “Continuity and Transition in Southern Jordan (CTSJ): Preliminary Results from 2024–2025 Reconnaissance Surveys in the Petra Region”. Evidence for these papers was acquired over the last two summer field seasons of archaeological survey in Petra, Jordan.
Several hundred archaeologists attended this conference that is held every three years. Dr. Ramsay was fortunate to have the Director General of the Department of Antiquities in Jordan, Dr. Fawzi Abu Danneh, in the audience.
