Basic Needs Program Graduate Assistant (Part-time)

The Graduate Assistant role for the Basic Needs Program is rooted in providing
tailored student support and resource connection to retain students, keep them
engaged and focused on their academics, all while helping them navigate
barriers to accessing food, transportation, housing, childcare, healthcare and
more. Each story is unique and the approach follows. The GA will engage in
various ways to support students and Hazen’s Well-Being Center; a few of the
focus areas include:

Case Management: the primary responsibility of a GA in this role is to provide
1:1 support to students; following up on basic needs inquiries and facilitating
telehealth visits; providing non-clinical case management; utilizing an Electronic
Health Record (EHR) system used by Hazen Center for Integrated Care and
more.
Marketing & Promotion: The GA will engage in regular outreach efforts to
educate and spread awareness about the basic needs program (i.e., tabling,
print and digital marketing efforts, social media, contributing to campus-wide
communication, etc.). An area of focus will be Supplemental Nutrition
Assistance Program (SNAP).
Administrative & Leadership Support: The GA will manage correspondence for
the shared mailbox of the basic needs program; research and maintain
resource hub and related platforms; support, train and oversee interns or other
staff for the program, as applicable; contribute to reports during the academic
year; cross-trained to support The Pantry and contribute to well-being initiatives
for Hazen and Student Affairs; engage in relevant committees.
