SUNY Brockport student Kaleigh Green ’28 has been recognized for outstanding achievement in theatre design, earning the Design Excellence Award in Sound Design for Region 2 of the American College Theatre Festival (ACTF). With this honor, Green advances as a national finalist, placing her among the top student designers in the country.

Green received the award for her work as Sound Designer and Live Mix Operator for TheatreBrockport’s Fall 2025 production of A Year with Frog and Toad. Her design thoughtfully supported the production’s storytelling through a detailed and technically sophisticated approach to live sound.

As part of the ACTF process, Green presented a comprehensive overview of her design, highlighting every stage of her creative and technical work—from initial concept and research to execution. Her presentation included a sound plot, pre-show mix strategy, mic matrix, line signal path diagrams, and audio samples from the live performance, demonstrating both artistic vision and technical precision.

The American College Theatre Festival is a nationally recognized program that celebrates excellence in collegiate theatre and provides students with opportunities to refine their craft through feedback and competition. Each year, thousands of students participate across regional festivals, with only a select group advancing to national recognition.

Green’s achievement reflects not only her individual talent and dedication, but also the strength of SUNY Brockport’s theatre program in fostering innovative, high-caliber student work. The Brockport community celebrates this remarkable accomplishment and the national recognition it brings.
