The show features designers and artists who have produced projects using design as a tool for making positive social change and showcases their professional design-focused projects that had, and continue to have, a positive impact addressing a social issue or an underserved population.
Christensen’s display exhibits his design work for Compeer Rochester’s 2021 Annual Report. Compeer Rochester is a non-profit organization that provides healing friendship to Rochester, NY, community members living with mental health challenges and helps to shatter the stigma surrounding mental health conditions. Its annual report is a crucial piece that supports administrative operations by providing mandatory New York State reporting and also acts as a primary promotional handout—highlighting yearly achievements and providing an overview of services—when communicating with prospective donors, volunteers, and the general community. The report is a centerpiece of the organization’s annual meeting when its board reviews the past year’s work and its plan for the future. Christensen has provided pro bono support to Compeer Rochester since 2018.
The exhibition will be held at the Nazareth Arts Center Gallery and run from October 11 – November 24, 2024, with an opening reception from 5 – 7 pm on Friday, October 11.
