Kendalyn welcomes your questions about her experience as a graduate student at SUNY Brockport to aid in your graduate school search process.
Kendalyn Town is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Ecology. She has been able to conduct research in the field as part of the Great Lakes Coastal Wetland Monitoring Program. Through this work, she is developing the hands-on skills required for a career in environmental science. Kendalyn has found the program to be a tight-knit community with faculty and staff who truly care about students.
Her advice to students coming to Brockport for their graduate degree is to take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.
“Getting involved in volunteer opportunities, conferences, and projects helps you make connections and strengthen your resume while having some fun in the process,” she said.
Kendalyn enjoys spending time in nature, going for walks, kayaking, hammocking, and camping. Since moving to Brockport, she has explored state parks around Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes. When Kendalyn is not outside, you’ll find her reading or drawing.
