Bio
Professor Fox is a full-time faculty member in the School of Nursing at SUNY Brockport, where she has served since summer 2018. She teaches across multiple instructional modalities, including didactic, online, clinical, and laboratory courses within the undergraduate nursing program.
Professor Fox earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master in Nursing Education from Roberts Wesleyan College in 2015 and 2017, respectively. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She will begin doctoral studies in Spring 2026, pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) at SUNY Brockport.
Prior to her academic appointment, Professor Fox practiced in diverse clinical settings, including medical-surgical nursing, postpartum care, and community health nursing. Her clinical background informs her teaching philosophy and supports the integration of theory, evidence-based practice, and clinical application. In 2015, she transitioned into nursing education with a commitment to advancing student learning.
Professor Fox developed a strong foundation in mentoring students across classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes student-centered, evidence-based instruction, with a particular focus on active learning strategies that foster clinical reasoning, professional judgment, and practice readiness. She is committed to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
She views nursing practice as a professional privilege and nursing education as a critical avenue for shaping the future of the discipline. Professor Fox is dedicated to supporting students throughout their academic progression, guiding them from novice learners to competent, practice-ready graduates prepared to meet the demands of contemporary healthcare environments.
Outside of her professional role, Professor Fox enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Research Interests
My research focuses on advancing nursing education through innovative teaching strategies, including deliberate practice, simulation, and technology-enhanced learning. I am particularly interested in improving clinical skill development, student engagement and retention, interprofessional education, and curriculum design. I also explore assessment methods and evidence-based approaches to enhance learning outcomes and prepare nurses for evolving healthcare challenges.
