Policy Statement

Final high school transcripts are required to receive federal and/or state financial assistance.

Purpose/Scope

The policy outlines the federal and state requirements for undergraduate students to submit their final high school transcript to SUNY Brockport for the purpose of receiving federal and/or state financial aid.

Applicability

This policy applies to all undergraduate students.

Definitions

Official transcript — An official transcript is one that is received by mail (in a sealed envelope) or digitally/electronically from the degree-granting institution.

Policy Procedures

Proof of high school graduation is a requirement for all undergraduate students wishing to receive federal and/or state financial aid. Proof of high school graduation must be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as soon as possible to facilitate the financial aid process.

Proof of high school graduation include:

  • Official high school transcript showing date of graduation
  • Official high school diploma
  • Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED) or high school equivalency diploma
  • Official copy of associate or bachelor’s degree diploma (for international students only)
  • Official college or university transcript stating that a degree has been awarded
