About the Committee

The Research Council serves as an advisory body to the provost in all issues relating to research and other scholarly or creative activity at SUNY Brockport.

Mission & Goals

The functions of the council include the following:

  1. To advocate for necessary resources that maximize the research productivity of faculty and increase the visibility of research on the University campus.
  2. To recommend policies and programs that build faculty capacity in obtaining external funding for research and other scholarly or creative works.
  3. To recommend policies that enhance strong and mutually productive research collaborations within and across disciplines.
  4. To propose initiatives that promote faculty-led student research.
