Exam Score Waiver

Candidates seeking a certificate in the classroom teaching service, educational leadership service, school counseling, or an applicable extension, may apply for an exam score waiver for certain exams.

Safety Nets

Exam Fee Assistance

If you are able to demonstrate financial need and would like to request an exam voucher for financial assistance, complete the questionnaire to be considered for an e-voucher. The voucher is not issued by SUNY Brockport. All questions regarding this voucher should be directed to NYSED.

When to Take Each Exam

While there is no specific sequence that must be followed when taking the NYS exams, the following guidance is offered.

Adolescence Inclusive Generalist

EAS: Educating All Students

Undergraduate students: After completing EDI 413, 414, 419, and 430.

Graduate students: After completing EDI 513, 514, 519 and 530

CST- MST: Content Specialty Test- Multi-Subject Test (7-12) After completing 6 credits in English, History, Science, Mathematics and required Foreign Language and Fine Arts Courses. It is recommended that you take Math courses up to the level of Pre-Calculus since Pre-Calculus is included in the Multi-Subject Test.
CST: Content Specialty Test After completing all courses within the discipline major
CST-SWD: Content Specialty Test Students with Disabilities

Undergraduate students: After completing EDI 413, 414, and 419

Graduate students: After completing EDI 513, 514, and 519
