- Karen stated that Cabinet accepted the committee’s fall 2017 report with the exception that they wanted the online and hybrid programs to continue to be charged a health fee. This request was made based on having an online support program being made available. Starting this fall 2018, an online support program will be offered through a third party. After a meeting with Lou Spiro, Libby Caruso, Kathy Peterson, and Karen Riotto, a compromise was developed for a new proposal. The new proposal is that a flat $25 fee will be assessed to the students enrolled in the hybrid and online programs. This is a significant reduction from the full health fee. This proposal will be brought to President’s Cabinet for their approval.
- Due to time constraints, the request to BSG to re-evaluate their assessment criteria will be moved forward from the fall 2017 report to the fall 2018 report.
- Karen asked if members had any additional edits to the Campus Based Fee Policy. No edits
were provided, the policy will now move to the next level for approval. - Committee members discussed what the definition of hybrid and online programs would be for the College. Eileen stated the SUNY’s definition is any program that is over 50% online is considered an online program. There is not currently a SUNY definition regarding hybrid
programs. The committee decided to code the programs that have been registered with SUNY as online programs to be assessed the new online student fee structure as outlined in the committee’s fall report. Eileen will send committee members the list of online programs as well as the SUNY approval form for online programs. This list will be used to implement the new fee assessment for fall 2018. - Committee members discussed the meeting schedule for next year. It was decided that meetings could be monthly but to schedule bi-weekly. Members agreed to continue meeting on Tuesday mornings from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
- As Kathy Peterson served her term as College Senate President Elect, Jim Zollweg will be the new College Senate President Elect and will serve as co-chair for this committee.
