After being admitted and deposited as enrolled in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), students are required to attend a mandatory pre-first-year four-week summer program.

The purpose is to provide students with academic skill development and knowledge of the campus to prepare them for the pace of full-time college enrollment courses. The Summer Academy also familiarizes students with the SUNY Brockport campus through presentations by staff from multiple student services staff such as the Academic Success Center, Counseling Center, Residential Life, and more. The Summer Academy aims to simulate an academic semester and offer various activities and opportunities for a successful college life.

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Office offers individual and group tutoring services for students within the program. Additionally, students have accessibility to the campus-based tutoring services at the Academic Success Center. 

All students in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) are assigned a counselor to attend to and support their goal of pursuing a college degree. First-year students must meet with their counselors bi-weekly.

Counselors provide individual support in the areas of:

• Academic advisement
• Career planning
• Financial aid
• Involvement opportunities
• Personal well-being & skill development

Counselors are available to students during the semester and when classes are not in session. 

The Career Design Center connects our Golden Eagles with their next professional step. Find internships, part-time jobs, full-time jobs, and other amazing opportunities through Handshake. In addition to professional work-related experiences, Handshake allows you to schedule one-on-one appointments with our Career Design Center Staff, access online resources to prepare for your future, and register to attend events, workshops, and helpful programs.
